I was young during the 1960 season and I had never gotten into football much. Back then, football coverage on TV wasn't too good. The Eagles played a 12-game schedule and only the away games were broadcast. Unless you went to a home game yourself, you didn't get the chance to see much of the Eagles.

Anyway, on the day after Christmas in 1960 – the day the Eagles and Packers played for the NFL championship – I was visiting my grandfather's house. I didn't have much else to do, so I joined my father and grandfather, who were listening to the championship game on radio. I got so excited that day, I became an instant Eagles fan and, in particular, a Chuck Bednarik fan. From that day forward, I bled Eagles' green. When I was 56, an artist named Gary Longordo, asked me what my favorite sports memory was. I answered right away. I told him it was Chuck Bednarik and the 1960 NFL championship game. Gary, whom I've known for several years, painted a picture of ""Concrete Charley"" Bednarik standing over Frank Gifford and gave it to me as a gift. I even had the painting autographed by Chuck. It's now my prize possession because it immortalizes a famous Bednarik play in a crucial win which led the Eagles to the 1960 championship game. The painting also serves as a constant reminder of my first and still greatest Eagles fan moment: the 1960 NFL championship game.
