In 1966, I was serving in Vietnam. I wrote a letter to Pete Retzlaff asking if he would send my son his autographed picture because he was my son's (as well as my) favorite player. Pete not only sent me his picture, he also sent a football autographed by the whole team. His picture was a huge morale booster at Christmas for the entire crew on my ship since we were all young and far away from home.
