In 1947, I was in the LaSalle High School band. I was a freshman. We were chosen to play at an Eagles-Redskins game. The Eagles situated us behind the goal posts at ground level. It was really exciting just to be there.The kickoff was fielded by the great Steve Van Buren and he ran it from the end zone all the way back for a touchdown! Delirious pandemonium broke loose in the stands and in our band! Then, the referee called the play back because of an off-sides penalty.
