The snowstorm that preceded the 2004 NFC Championship Game had run its course by the time we were all seated at Lincoln Financial Field. But there was still a howling wind. As Timmy Kelly, the Eagles’ good luck charm, sang the first few bars of the National Anthem, that howling wind literally took his breath away. His next few words were a struggle, but the rest of us would not allow him to fail.
